Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Fest 2026 will return as a month-long celebration from Aug 29-Sept 29, featuring statewide roadshows, cultural showcases, and 50 featured events highlighting the State's diversity and traditions.
Continuing its theme of "Cultural Extravaganza", the festival organised by the Sabah Tourism Board (STB) through Sri Pelancongan Sabah (SPS) aims to bring communities and visitors closer to local heritage.
The celebration will kick off at the Sabah Tourism Board building here before travelling to Sandakan, Tawau, Kudat, and Kuala Lumpur with cultural performances and hands-on workshops.
The showcase in Kuala Lumpur will serve to promote Sabah's cultural offerings to travellers and audiences beyond the state.
This year’s festival carries added significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of STB, which was originally established in August 1976 as the Sabah Tourism Promotion Corporation before being re-established under its current name in November 1985.
Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister and STB Chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said Sabah Fest provides an important platform to celebrate local traditions while creating opportunities for industry stakeholders to collaborate.
The 50 curated events held in partnership with local businesses, organisations, and event organisers will span conferences, special promotions, cultural exhibitions, and tourism packages registered through the Hello Sabah website.
