Two miscreants targeted a woman who had gone to drop her sister at the Ludhiana railway station. They threw her off her scooter, assaulted her with the butt of a weapon and fled with her Honda Activa scooter.
Sita Devi said she had been visiting the police station repeatedly for the past one month but the police did not register her complaint. It was only after several visits that the police finally registered an FIR and initiated further investigation.
She said her younger sister had come from Bihar to her house in Satguru Nagar some time ago. On the night intervening April 23 and 24, she left home to drop her sister at the city railway station.
After seeing off her sister, she was returning home on the scooter. Around 5 am, when she reached near the Lohara bridge, two youths on a motorcycle came from the rear. Sensing their ill intentions, she sped up her scooter. However, the miscreants overtook her and pushed her down on the road. When she tried to save her scooter by removing the key, the miscreants attacked her with the butt of a gun and took away the scooter. She alleged that she kept visiting the police station for the past one month but to no avail. Now, the police have registered an FIR and started a probe.
