Kota Kinabalu: Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said more opportunities are being offered to Sabahans to become specialists to satisfy the medical needs in Sabah.
“We need specialists in Sabah, otherwise we will need to send those from other states who will come here briefly but will want to go back.
“We need to train Sabahans, they will stay in Sabah, so priority is given to them,” he told Daily Express, on recent emphasis for the State to train its own medical personnel, including awarding scholarships for medical studies.
