- A Norse Atlantic Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner bound for New York performed a rejected takeoff and became temporarily disabled on the runway.
- The runway reopened after the aircraft was towed away and a full safety inspection was carried out by emergency teams.
- More than 330 flights suffered severe delays averaging nearly an hour, whilst several incoming flights were diverted to Luton and Stansted airports.
- Passengers travelling through Gatwick have been advised to check their flight status as disruption is expected to persist for the rest of the day.
