MANILA, Philippines—A nationwide survey showed that most Filipinos believe that elected officials do not value their thoughts.
Sixty-one percent of those polled said that elected officials in Congress and local government units disregard their views, while 31 said officials value what they think. Nine percent were undecided.
This sentiment of being unheard is pervasive across socioeconomic classes. Among the richer ABC class and the larger D class, only 28-30 percent feel valued by their officials, with 61 percent saying they are not. The feeling is slightly less pronounced in Class E, where 57 percent said officials do not value their thoughts, while 41 percent in this group said they do.
The Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by Octa Research from December 3 to 11, 2025, involved face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult Filipinos. It has a margin of error of ±3 percent for national estimates and ±6 percent for subnational estimates.
