MANILA, Philippines – The state-run weather agency said on Wednesday that most parts of the archipelago would be experiencing generally fair weather due to the easterlies.

Weather forecaster Loriedin dela Cruz-Galicia of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that any formation of a low-pressure area inside or outside the country’s area of responsibility would be unlikely over the next two to three days.

“The country would again be experiencing hot and humid weather throughout the day due to the prevailing easterly winds,” the Pagasa forecaster said.

However, the same weather system would likely bring partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, especially in late afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.

On the heat index forecast, Pagasa said Metro Manila would likely experience 39 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which falls under the extreme caution category, and the highest could be recorded over Sangley Point, Cavite, at 43 degrees Celsius, which falls under the danger category.

It has been reminding the public to limit outdoor activities, particularly when the sun’s heat is at its peak, and stay hydrated.
