Mother and daughter trapped in sand on beach saved by theme park team

• A mother and daughter were rescued from waist-deep wet sand in Southend-on-Sea.
• The incident took place in the Three Shells Lagoon just after 5pm on Tuesday, 10 March.
• The pair became trapped in wet sand recently placed by the council, with the tide coming in.
• Adventure Island staff spotted the pair and used ropes to pull them to safety.
• A team member from Adventure Island also alerted the Coastguard during the rescue operation.
