Mother’s tribute to son with ‘kindest heart’ who was killed in lorry crash

  • An 11-year-old boy, George Dennis, tragically died after being involved in a collision with a lorry on Epping Road, Ongar, at approximately 4.20pm on July 10.
  • George was rushed to hospital following the incident but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
  • The driver of the lorry, a 48-year-old man from Derbyshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been bailed until mid-September as police investigations continue.
  • George's mother, Emma, paid an emotional tribute, describing him as having "the kindest heart, a cheeky smile, and a personality that was truly one of a kind," and highlighted his passion for football and his beloved Tottenham Hotspur.
  • Essex Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the vicinity at the time of the collision to come forward and assist with their ongoing inquiry, quoting incident 1045 of July 10.
