THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday that it is looking for a man reportedly last seen with the woman whose corpse was found in a refrigerator in Rodriguez, Rizal.
The cadaver was discovered on Sept. 16. Based on reports, the landlord went to the unit on Sept. 10 to request the tenant to sign a lease contract, but no one came out.
A few days later, a foul odor from the unit prompted the landlord to call the police.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame, Col. Allen Rae Co said the victim’s father approached authorities and presented her identification cards.
“We have already established the actual identity of the victim,” Co told reporters.
Co said the police are looking at a person of interest, adding they have someone in custody but did not provide details.
He noted that money could have been a motive for the killing, as the victim’s father said his daughter was carrying a large amount of money.
“The deceased just returned home after posting bail — she’s facing the same case as the person of interest,” Co said.
“The woman allegedly has money, according to the father, so most likely, they fought over the money or something,” he added.
