Bezzecchi holds off Martin in Aprilia’s historic one-two
It was a day to remember for Aprilia as Marco Bezzecchi led home Jorge Martin for the team’s first-ever one-two finish in the premier class.
The race had already been shortened from 31 to 23 laps due to tyre wear concerns in the heat, but that did nothing to slow down Bezzecchi, who controlled things from start to finish.
Bezzecchi looked quick right out of the gate, setting the pace in warm-up with a time just four-tenths shy of Fabio Di Giannantonio’s pole lap from qualifying.
The circuit had grabbed attention on Saturday after a sinkhole appeared on the main straight, but repairs held up well and it didn’t play any role on race day.

Marco Bezzecchi takes the Brazilian Grand Prix ahead of Jorge Martin
Bezzecchi was quick off the line, taking the lead from pole-sitter Fabio Di Giannantonio into turn one. Marquez held off early pressure from Jorge Martin before turning his attention forward.
Di Giannantonio and Marquez spent several laps battling for second place, allowing Bezzecchi to open up a gap at the front. Martin took advantage of their fight, moving past both to settle into second and make it an Aprilia one-two.
By then, Bezzecchi had built nearly a second’s lead over his teammate. Marquez stayed patient behind Di Giannantonio, waiting for an opening while keeping close tabs on the VR46 rider ahead.
Francesco Bagnaia’s race hit another setback on lap 11 when he crashed out while running near the back of the Ducati field. Fermin Aldeguer was in eighth at that point in his return from injury.
Marquez managed to get past with five laps remaining, but Di Giannantonio reclaimed third two laps later and held onto it until the end, giving Ducati its first podium finish of 2026.
