
KENINGAU: A motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider was seriously injured in an accident at Bukit Barasanon, Jalan Keningau-Sook, Sunday night.
In the incident at 11.20pm, the rider of the Honda RSX 150 motorcycle, an Indonesian in his 20s, was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics from fatal injuries.
Keningau District Police Chief, Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai said they received a call regarding the incident at 11.40pm and a police team was mobilised to the scene.
“An Isuzu Trooper had collided with the motorcycle which occurred after the motorcycle lost control and entered the opposite lane.

The 21-year-old male pillion rider meanwhile was given initial treatment by the Fire and Rescue Department before being rushed to the Keningau Hospital.
Yampil added that a total of four people in the Isuzu Trooper vehicle aged 30 to 40 years only sustained minor injuries and were given initial treatment by the rescue workers.
The case is investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
