TAWAU: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident at Batu 15, Jalan Apas near the junction to Jalan Bukit Quoin, here, Sunday.
Daily Express reporter who was at the scene learned that the young man, whose identity has yet to be established as at press time, died at the scene.
An eyewitness, who declined to be identified, said the motorcycle was heading toward Tawau Airport from Batu 10 Jalan Apas when the accident happened at 2pm.
It was suggested that the motorcycle was hit by a red four-wheel-drive exiting the Bukit Quoin junction.
Family members, including the deceased’s mother and a friend, were present but declined to speak with the media.
The accident caused congestion stretching one kilometre, with bystanders assisting police in managing traffic flow at the crash site.
