
- YouTube star and educator Ms Rachel (Rachel Griffin Accurso) has pledged $1m to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, matching a donation made by rapper Macklemore after he was removed from Ed Sheeran’s US tour.
- Calling on other wealthy white celebrities to speak out against the genocide in Gaza, Ms Rachel emphasised that public figures have a moral obligation to use their privilege and platforms to protect children and human rights.
- Macklemore announced his $1m donation from tour earnings after being dropped from Sheeran's tour following his onstage calls for a free Palestine and a performance of his protest song Hind's Hall during shows in New Jersey.
- New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft acknowledged opposing Macklemore's performance over rhetoric he considered offensive, while Sheeran clarified the decision rested with the promoter and announced that both he and Kraft will donate $2m each to humanitarian aid.
- Following Macklemore's removal, all remaining supporting acts including Lukas Graham and Finneas quit the tour in protest, sparking widespread speculation that Sheeran may be forced to cancel the remainder of his US dates.
