
Kota Kinabalu: The country’s top muaythai exponents Ali Yaakub ‘Captain Malaysia’ and Hasril Nazmi ‘Dancing Boy’ will set the stage alight at the second edition of the Elopura Fights:
Reunion of Champions organised by Sandakan District Muay Thai Association (SDMTA) at the SMJK Tiong Hua Multipurpose Hall in Sandakan from January 11-12.
AdvertisementThey are to compete in the professional category and are expected to face strong challenges from local fighters such as Riedzwan Norsyahmie Daud and Dazaisy Hafiyy Aznee.
SDMTA president Mohamad Ajman Ajmain, who is also the tournament director, said the appearance of these top fighters is set to thrill the local fans.

He added that the event recognised by the Malaysian Muaythai Association, Sabah State Muaythai Association, and under the supervision of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) and the World Muaythai Council (WMC) will also feature the Muaythai Sport (amateur) category with various age groups that will involve more than 100 participants from throughout the country.

“My organising team has been working hard and our vision is to elevate Elopura Fights to become the premier stage for combat sports shows, not only in Sabah but across the region. This journey is about empowering athletes, inspiring communities, and putting Sandakan on the world map as a destination of excellence in sports and tourism,” he said
