
KINARUT: TigerTC (WT) Taekwondo Club Sabah once again did the State proud after reaching its target of 10 medals at the 7th Heros International Taekwondo Cup 2025 in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan which was held from Aug 7/10.
The club bagged three gold, five silver and five bronze medals– contributed by athletes from various age and weight categories.
TigerTC President Harry K. Lajanga, credited the success to hard work, structured training and mental preparation.
“We are happy the target was achieved. More importantly, the athletes showed improvement in discipline, focus and fighting spirit.
“The victory also reflected the effectiveness of the club’s long-term development plan, focusing on young talent, with strong support from parents, the community and experienced coaches,” he said.
TigerTC, which will send 30 athletes with a 10-medal target, proved the goal was realistic through strategic planning and teamwork, thanks to key coaches Master Rizal Aninus, Coach Arman Juakal, Coach Al Hafiz Rizal, Ahmad Roshidi (TigerTC Lahad Datu), Coach Harry K. Lajanga and Coach Christina Nile Jais (TigerTC Kota Kinabalu), and Coach Norkasrina Noorkasan (TigerTC Tawau).
“The achievement would inspire athletes to continue striving in upcoming tournaments, including the Interior Taekwondo Championship and Sabah Games (SAGA) later this year,” Harry stressed.
The club also thanked the United Taekwondo Sabah Association (UTSA) for its continuous support in empowering the sport and nurturing more athletes for the international stage.
