SHAH ALAM - Talk is rife within Bersatu circles over its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin being summoned to the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to be charged on graft tomorrow.
Invites have been shared among the former Prime Minister's supporters, calling for them to assemble at the court grounds to offer support to the Perikatan Nasional chairman, who is expected to be charged along with a director of a company.
The Pagoh member of Parliament is alleged to be charged with corruption in connection with the Jana Wibawa stimulus programme and the government's extra spending during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Checks with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) revealed that these were more than just rumours.
While the MACC source, privy to investigations, did confirm to Sinar Daily that Muhyiddin was among a pair of company directors to be charged tomorrow, which the MACC themselves had informed media earlier today, the source refuted some reports which claimed he had been arrested.
Sinar Daily will be providing updates as the news develops. Muhyiddin's representatives are yet to respond.
