Murder Confirmed: Cyberjaya Student’s Death Under Investigation

A 20-year-old university student from Kuching, Sarawak, was found dead in her dormitory room yesterday morning in what authorities have confirmed as a case of murder.

The victim, Manishapriet, who was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy at a private university in Cyberjaya, was discovered by a friend at around 10AM, with visible injuries on her body.

Victim Was Alone During Semester Break

According to TikTok news source Lintas Viral, the victim had been staying alone in a shared unit with five other housemates, who had all returned to their hometowns for the semester break since June 21. She remained on campus to prepare for an upcoming exam.

Robbery Suspected

Preliminary checks revealed that some of the victim’s belongings, including her laptop, were missing, raising the possibility of robbery with assault. However, police have not yet confirmed the motive.

Viral videos circulating online showed police officers removing the body from the unit and transporting it to a nearby hospital for forensic investigation. Authorities later confirmed that blunt force trauma to the head was the cause of death.

Three Suspects Arrested

Three individuals — a 20-year-old man and two women aged 19 and 20 — have been arrested in connection with the case. All are believed to have personally known the victim. One of the women is reportedly a housemate, while the male suspect is her boyfriend.

The suspects were detained in Johor and Negeri Sembilan between 9AM yesterday and 2AM today. Police have obtained a seven-day remand order to continue their investigation.

In a shocking development, one of the suspects is alleged to have made six ATM withdrawals using the victim’s bank card after the murder.

Campus Safety Under Scrutiny

The case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The tragedy has sparked widespread concern among university students nationwide, with many questioning the safety of campus accommodation during semester breaks. While people start spread this information on social media especially girls to remind the girls to always stay safe and don't too easy to trust on people.

On social media, people expressed shock, scared and grief, while others called for stricter dormitory security policies to prevent similar incidents in the future.
