Kota Kinabalu: A 51-year-old man, who was charged with murdering his wife in Sook, last year, will know on March 13, whether he will have to enter his defence or be acquitted of the charge.

High Court Judge Datuk Dr Lim Hock Leng has set the date for clarification and ruling for Patersius Juliteh @ Julit at the end of the prosecution’s stage.

Patersius was accused of murdering Sansiah Tinggian, 41, on Feb 2, 2024, at 11pm, at house in Kg Tingalan.

Muktadar Abd Majid pleaded guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to committing the offence on Feb 7, this year, at 12.30pm, at Kg Lokub, Sepanggar in Manggatal.

The facts of the case presented by the prosecution stated that a complainant had lodged a police report regarding Muktadar’s actions of sniffing glue in the vicinity of the complainant’s house.

Muktadar was seen holding a plastic bag containing shoe glue and disturbing the public peace by making noise while searching for his wife at the complainant’s residence.

The court ordered Muktadar to serve the sentence from the date of his arrest on Feb 7 and be referred to the Immigration Department thereafter.

In another case, a kitchen helper was charged with stealing a crate of stout beer from a convenience store.

Azizul Maslin, 38, was accused of stealing 24 tins of 500ml stout worth RM397.60 on Feb 5, this year, at 5.1am, at 7-Eleven, Gaya streets.

The charge is under Section 380 of the Penal Code.

The prosecution in applying for a new mention date proposed bail at RM5,000.

Counsel Lim Ming Zoong, requested a lower bail bond citing that the accused is married with one child and works as a kitchen helper.

Magistrate Dzul Elmy Yunus fixed April 14 for pre-trial case management and released Azizul on RM1,500 bail in two sureties.
