POLICE have opened a murder investigation following the discovery of an Indonesian woman’s body bearing marks on her neck in a plantation in Banting.

Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said officers were alerted to the grim discovery on Sunday, Feb 15, after a member of the public found the body in the plantation area.

“Investigations revealed ligature marks on the victim’s neck, leading to suspicion of foul play,” he said in a statement on Monday, Feb 16.

Two Indonesian men have since been arrested to assist in investigations into the woman’s death.

Supt Mohd Akmalrizal said an investigation paper has been opened under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. - February 17, 2026
