John Murtough doesn't expect the axe at Manchester United anytime soon.
The technical director is expected to be squeezed out as Sir Jim Ratcliffe buys into his club and seeks a new sporting director.
But the Telegraph says Murtough expects to assist Ratcliffe in the transition and believes he could have a long-term role with the billionaire's company, INEOS.
Indeed, Murtough hopes to recruit more figures of his own at United amid ongoing mass changes to the club's scouting network.
The prospect of an imminent sporting director appointment is unlikely while Ratcliffe waits for his 25 per cent share purchase to be rubberstamped by United's board.
