Germany and Bayern Munich footballer Jamal Musiala has lost his driving licence following a crash with another car on a motorway near the Bavarian capital, the public prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.

A spokesman said the order was for endangering road traffic and negligent bodily harm in two cases.

The Bild newspaper quoted the 23-year-old as saying: "It is true that I had an accident in April 2025, which I also caused. I of course take responsibility for that. I am all the more grateful that nobody was seriously injured because of my inattention."

Instead of the permitted 120 kilometres per hour, he was travelling at 194 at the time of the collision, the spokesman added. The 30-year-old driver of the other car and a 26-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Musiala will not be able to drive until mid-November.
