Speaking in the first ever TedxIIUM event tonight, the two-time premier said there is numerous crisis in the world nowadays and Muslim should contribute in bringing back the peace as Islam promotes peace.
“We have seen in the past, civil wars, wars between nation and also war between Muslim countries.
“Our government should be providing good governance for Muslim countries. But there some governments, unfortunately, have failed to provide the kind of governance in their country.
“To the point where many of them decided to leave their country and seek refuge,” he said during the speech.
Taking as an example, he spoke about the crisis between Ukraine and Russia which had affected the world, including Malaysia.
“A bomb can be dropped in a city and 70,000 people would die. That is how serious is crime committed during war," he added.
Dr Mahathir advised people, Muslims, especially to work together to achieve a peaceful and prosperous country and world for the good of everyone.
