KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR Chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to defending the Api-Api and Inanam seats, calling them vital to the coalition’s strength in the capital.

He said the party’s support also extended to its allies in DAP, stressing that losing any city seat could impact Kota Kinabalu MP Datuk Chan Foong Hin’s position.

Mustapha made the remarks at the launch of the Api-Api Division Operations Centre at Taman Fortuna, Luyang, on Sunday, which was officiated by PKR Deputy President Nurul Izzah Anwar.

He urged members to prioritise unity and teamwork, reminding them that the campaign effort was for the party and coalition as a whole, rather than individual ambitions.

Looking ahead, Mustapha said PKR aims to defend no fewer than seven seats, recalling that the party had won six in 2013, and assured that cooperation with allies would be managed carefully to avoid contest overlaps.
