All Lights Went On Again!
Car trouble has a way of finding you at the worst possible time.
One problem after the other.
That’s just how it goes sometimes.
But that’s what life is all about, you either take it or grumble about it. I took the first option.
When all the lights suddenly turned on (this happened a few times before that cost me a lot of money), I stayed calm like an iceman.
Panic never fixed a car anyway.
It’s turning dark, I just fetched my son from school and my FM from work. FM jumped out and took an e-hailer home with my son.
Smart move. No point everyone stranded together.
I dragged my car to a safer place and called my mechanic, but his workshop closed already.
Of course it did.
Modern cars are driven by wire and everything’s connected to the ECU. So I switched off everything for a while and switched it on again, like a reboot.
If it works on a phone, why can’t it work on a car’s computer, so I thought, but no, it didn’t happen.
Worth a shot though.
God had other plan.
And His plan, it turned out, came with company.
A few people stopped by asking what happened. An e-rider stopped and tried to help. He had some manual tools and checked here and there but car electronics is not his thing too.
Still, he didn’t just wave and ride off.
He spent a good hour empathizing my position and even offered me with some money.
An e-rider. A stranger. No obligation to stop, no obligation to stay, and definitely no obligation to open his wallet for someone he’d never met.
But he did.
Hello world! There are still many good people around….value them while you can.
Because in a world quick to complain about strangers, it’s easy to forget how many are quietly ready to help one.
