KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — The father of the 15-year-old girl stabbed at a secondary school in Banting has denied social media allegations that his daughter was involved in bullying, describing her as a reserved teenager and urging the public to leave the investigation to police.

According to Sinar Harian, Mohd Firuz Ibrahim, 43, said he had seen WhatsApp messages and a viral list of names linking his daughter to alleged bullying, but stressed that neither he nor his family could verify their authenticity.

“I have heard the stories and received WhatsApp messages containing the list of names that has gone viral, but we cannot confirm whether it is genuine.

“I do not want to comment further. Let the police carry out their investigation,” he told the national daily at Banting Hospital today.

He was responding to a letter circulating on social media that allegedly linked his daughter to claims of bullying.

Describing his daughter’s personality, Mohd Firuz said she rarely went anywhere without one of her parents.

“If she leaves the house, either I or her mother takes her.

“My daughter is very quiet. She only answers when spoken to and only asks for something when she needs it.

“She has never gone out alone with her friends. If there are allegations that she bullied someone, I don’t think that could have happened.

“However, I am open to the police investigating whether there was any element of bullying,” he said.

Mohd Firuz said his family did not know the family of the girl accused of stabbing his daughter, adding that his daughter had never spoken about the suspect at home.

“My daughter never spoke about that friend either,” he said.

The incident occurred at about 9.30am yesterday, when a 15-year-old girl allegedly stabbed the victim, who is also 15, several times, leaving her with injuries to multiple parts of her body.

It is understood that the suspect had not attended school for several months and had been receiving medical treatment. She allegedly entered the school compound through the main gate before the incident.

Police have said the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and remanded for four days until Friday.

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
