BANTING, July 7 — The father of the 15-year-old girl who was injured in a stabbing at a secondary school in Banting has said he is willing to meet the family of the teenage suspect, adding that he hopes his daughter receives “the justice she deserves”.

According to Sinar Harian, Mohd Firuz Ibrahim, 43, said he had not received any contact from the suspect’s family since yesterday’s attack.

“Yes, I’m willing to meet them... we’ll see how things are first,” he told the national daily at Banting Hospital today when asked whether his family would consider forgiving the suspect following the attack.

Mohd Firuz said he hoped appropriate action would be taken against those responsible and that the incident would serve as a lesson, given that it occurred on school grounds.

“At the same time, I hope my daughter receives the justice she deserves,” he said.

The Form Three student was allegedly attacked during recess at about 9.30am on Monday.

She reportedly suffered between 14 and 16 stab wounds after being assaulted by another 15-year-old female student.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and has been remanded for four days to assist police investigations.

Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi previously said the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

Police investigations are ongoing.
