My daughter's defeat proves there is no element of interference in the party elections - Zahid

Commenting on his daughter's loss, party president, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this shows that he is a professional even though his own daughter was contesting in the party's election.

"Although I am her father and the head of division ( Umno Bagan Datuk) and also the party president , it shows that there is no interference in the election at the division level and at all party levels.

"I had also called upon all the top leadership (of the party) not to interfere in this election, and to choose who they think is best to lead, and even my daughter agreed," he said this when met by reporters at the Bagan Datuk Umno division meeting here on Saturday

Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid had lost the Wanita Umno Bagan Datuk division's race to incumbent Zarozatin Isa and claimed an ethical violation had occurred during the election process.
