Whenever I get the chance, or if I have to send a family member to PPUM (usually for check up's), I would make a detour while waiting @ section 11 Petaling Jaya. A quite famous restaurant by the name Sri Seenu, it used to be called something else, (I think it was Paandi? But I could be wrong)
I would get my usual, 2 slices of warm, freshly made chapati and a glass of Masala tea "kosong" (sugarless). My kind of breakfast of champions! I have gotten use to the smell of Indian joints, partly because I have quite a number of Indian friends, and also being a quarter Malay, quarter keling and half Chinese. I think my friends too, have kinda gotten use of my smell.
It saddens me that recently, a national hockey player made fun of the potential smell at an AR Rahman concert, it shows how divided we are, and I blame it out on our education system. But that's for another day.
Sincerely my advise to the said player is to mix around a little more, this message is not only to her, but to everyone else regardless of race, if you find yourself to be stereotyping others, be it for calling Chinese, greedy or Malay, lazy or keling, smelly, you only need to look at yourself, it is you that has not mixed around enough that you think that way. Stop blaming others for not making their effort, blame yourself for being closed up like a clam.
I'm happy and contend with mixing around, making friends, eating delish food (as long as it's halal). With that being said, that warm chapati deserves a second helping. (Nope, no pictures of the food, just read this article and imagine that silky soft warm chapati. If you can't, then just waze your way there and give it a try! (click here for location)
