In conjunction with Deepavali, MYDIN has introduced Malaysia’s first Rotating Kolam, giving the traditional Indian art form a modern twist.
Unlike conventional Kolam designs, which are usually created on the floor using colourful patterns, this version features a wheel-shaped structure that rotates, offering a fresh take on the traditional art.
MYDIN offers fresh take on traditional Kolam designs
Featuring vibrant colours, carefully arranged geometric patterns and dynamic visual elements, the Rotating Kolam offers a fresh take on traditional Kolam designs.
Its rotating structure also creates a more interactive visual experience, allowing the public to appreciate Indian cultural heritage in a new way.
In the spirit of Deepavali, the initiative reflects MYDIN’s efforts to bring the beauty of traditional art closer to today’s communities while keeping its cultural significance alive.
Every detail, from the colours and shapes to the arrangement of patterns, has been carefully designed to give the traditional Kolam a fresh, modern look while preserving its original identity.
More than just a decoration, the Rotating Kolam celebrates the beauty of traditional Indian art and shows how cultural heritage can be reimagined in new ways without losing its roots.
