PUTRAJAYA, Aug 25 — MyKad printing services nationwide are expected to experience temporary disruption starting tomorrow (Aug 26) until Aug 31 following the transition process to the new generation MyKad.

The National Registration Department (JPN) said it was currently implementing the transition from the existing MyKad structure to the new generation identity card.

Members of the public without urgent needs have been advised to temporarily postpone replacing or exchanging their MyKad during the period.

“For first-time MyKad applications for 12-year-old children, parents or guardians are also encouraged to wait a while to enable their children to receive the new generation MyKad when production begins in the near future,” JPN said in a statement today.

The department said it appreciated the public’s patience and cooperation throughout the transition process and apologised for any inconvenience that might arise. — Bernama
