Most of Luzon to experience rains due to 'Habagat' - Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Most of Luzon will continue to experience rains in the next few hours due to the Southwest Monsoon or "Habagat" that is strengthened by two tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to state weather bureau Pagasa (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration).

In its 5 pm weather update, Pagasa forecaster Benison Estareja said that the two weather systems remain outside the PAR, Super Typhoon Saudel and a low pressure area near Eastern China.

Despite these, these weather systems would strengthen "Habagat" especially in the western section of Luzon and Visayas, with rains to be expected in Ilocos and Cordillera Regions, and the western section of Central Luzon particularly in Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac and Pampanga, the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique and Metro Manila.

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao should expect isolated and localized thunderstorms, while some parts of Mindanao should expect warm weather.

On Wednesday, parts of North, Central, and Southern Luzon including Metro Manila should expect cloudy skies with intermittent rainfall due to Habagat.
