Commenting further, Harris said the department was in the process of identifying eligible candidates based on the conditions agreed by the Sabah Chief Minister and the focus of location would also be on districts that have the largest number of e-kasih recipients.

“We have discussed and presented to the Chief Minister. So far, there are two concentration areas that will be implemented and will be announced by the Chief Minister soon, with the selection of candidates based on the e-kasih list.

“If there is a balance, we will get a list of candidates from community leaders and see their qualifications in terms of income, never having a licence and other conditions.

“Focus will be given to districts that have a large number of recipients of e-kasih assistance,” he told the media during a courtesy visit to Sabah Information Director Jainisah Mohd Noor at the Communications and Digital Ministry’s Integrated Complex, here, Wednesday.

According to him, the visit aimed to further strengthen strategic cooperation in the aspect of disseminating information about the initiatives and activities of the road traffic enforcement body to the public through all communication and digital platforms, in addition to holding collaborative programmes to ensure the quality of government delivery services to the public is at its best level.

“This visit is for us to increase strategic cooperation with the Sabah Information Department as a very important strategic partner for the Road Transport Department.

“One of them is for us to publicise the latest initiative that we are implementing which is the MyJPJ Application and at the same time we are asking for cooperation so that the initiatives or enforcement programmes and activities carried out by the Sabah Road Transport Department are given space in the mass media, especially media registered with the Sabah Information Department,” he said.

For the record, the strength of the Sabah Road Transport Department is one of the largest in Malaysia with a total membership of 688 people with 26 offices consisting of 16 branch offices, six enforcement stations and three UTC offices throughout Sabah including the Sabah State Road Transport Department office.

In a related development, Harris informed that for the first time, the Sabah Road Transport Department will implement synergy with the Sabah Information Department in the MyJPJ Application Briefing Programme with District Information Officers, next Tuesday.
