Preston centre-half Ben Davies is attracting Premier League interest.
The Sun says Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is keen on classy Preston centre-half Davies as he plans some personal input into the players who come in.
Bruce was a huge admirer of Davies, 23, in his spell in charge at Championship level and now he has the cash to make a move.
Toon owner Mike Ashley started the window with a 50m budget for new players, boosted by the 30m sale of Ayoze Perez
But that amount is set to be massively reduced by the 38m deal for Brazilian striker Joelinton.
