MCMC reports 1.4 million participations in NADI smart services, boosting digital skills and safe internet awareness in communities across Malaysia

JOHOR BAHRU: The National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) Smart Services recorded 1.4 million participations nationwide as of December last year.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission said the figure reflects strong community demand for digital skills and socio-economic development.

“NADI Smart Services include, among others, e-Sports, DiLea Tuition and NADI Skilled Gadget Repair,” MCMC stated.

The commission issued the statement in conjunction with a Community Engagement Day held in Taman Desa Belantik here.

The programme was attended by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and other senior officials.

NADI aims to empower communities through programmes focusing on entrepreneurship, lifelong e-learning, self-wellbeing and mature internet usage.

MCMC also reported that 9,666 Safe Internet Campaign programmes were implemented nationwide throughout 2025.

This underscores the government’s commitment to promoting safe and responsible digital usage, especially among children.

The Community Engagement Day highlighted NADI’s role as a one-stop community centre for digital skill development.

It serves as a platform to disseminate government initiatives at the grassroots level.

The event featured exhibitions and services from other government agencies and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

During his working visit, Fahmi engaged with children and advised them to manage their gadget time wisely.

He also mingled with local residents at the community event.
