Napolis wins jiu jitsu bronze in Asian Games

MANILA, Philippines — Jenna Kaila Napolis bested Mongolian foe Tsagaanbileg Altangerel, 2-0, to secure the bronze medal in the women’s under-52 kilogram (kg) jiu-jitsu event at the 2026 Asian Games on Friday afternoon at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall in Japan.

The 30-year-old Napolis, who started her career in jiu jitsu when she was 13 years old, copped back-to-back bronze medal finishes at the Asian Games, following her third place finish in the 2022 Hangzhou Games.

Napolis won the match by scoring two points for a takedown or sweep, forcing Altangerel to the ground from standing or reversing position from the bottom guard.
