THE progress of Malaysia’s National Data Bank and its implementation timeline is set to take centre stage during Wednesday’s oral question and answer session in the Dewan Rakyat.

According to the Order of Business published on the official Parliament website, Datuk Dr Ku Abd Rahman (PN–Kubang Pasu) will ask the Digital Minister to outline the development timeline and the expected operational date of the data bank.

He is also expected to seek clarification on the protocols being introduced to guarantee data quality, security, privacy and interoperability once the system becomes operational.

In a separate question, Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN–Simpang Renggam) will press the Communications Minister on measures being taken to safeguard the government’s image, which he claimed was being undermined by media outlets allegedly disparaging national leaders and the administration.

Meanwhile, Chong Chieng Jen (PH–Stampin) will direct a question to the Finance Minister regarding diesel sales, asking whether there has been a decline in sales across Peninsular Malaysia and what level of savings the government has achieved since the diesel subsidy rationalisation came into effect in June 2024.

Following the question and answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will proceed with the committee stage debate on the Supply (Budget) Bill 2026.

The Third Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament is scheduled to continue for 35 days, concluding on 4 December. - November 12, 2025
