This theme emphasized the government's commitment to prioritizing the well-being of the people and reflects the values of the Rukun Negara with the Malaysia MADANI logo remaining the official symbol. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the theme reflects the government's priority in protecting people's welfare, following the Malaysia MADANI aspiration that upholds the values of unity and prosperity. I understand at its main core, Malaysia MADANI is about building an inclusive, participatory and just civil society, which means promoting the principles of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law and ensuring that all citizens have an equal opportunity to participate in the political and economic life of the country. One of the critical elements of Malaysia MADANI is civic consciousness, which refers to the awareness and responsibilities of every of its citizen. (https://www.pmo.gov.my)
As the CEO of Sejahtera Leadership Initiative (SLI) & Global Sejahtera, I support the theme for National Day & Malaysia Day in 2025 which translates to "Compassionate Nation for the People" that refers to a peaceful society where empathy, kindness, and concern for others, particularly those in need, are deeply ingrained values and practices. It involves individuals, communities, and institutions working together to alleviate suffering, promote wellbeing, and foster a sense of collective responsibility. (https://www.facebook.com/SejahteraLeadershipInitiative)

Based on various projects implemented by SLI locally and Global Sejahtera regionally, I found this can be manifested in various ways, such as providing support to vulnerable communities, advocating for social justice, and creating environments where people feel cared and supported. Compassionate is not just a feeling but also a call to action, leading to concrete efforts to resolve social issues & support those in need. This can include programs for homeless, disabilities, elderly people, relief for refugees due to natural disasters, wars, combat poverty, efforts to promote mental health, wellbeing & environment.
