The 7th free football summer training camp, dedicated to the Four Sahibzadas, will be organised by the Youth Football Welfare Club (regd), Nawanshahr, from June 1 to June 30.

Providing details about the camp, club president Karanjit Singh, senior players Raghuvinder Pal Singh and Varinder Singh stated that the month-long training camp will be held at the ground of JSSH Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Nawanshahr, with the support of principal Daljit Singh Bola. The camp is being organised as part of the club’s annual initiative to promote sports among youth.

The organisers informed that qualified and recognised football coaches from Punjab will provide free professional training to children of all age groups. The objective of the camp is to encourage young people to participate in sports and develop their football skills in a healthy and disciplined environment.

Retired SDO Raghuvinder Pal Singh appealed to parents to motivate their children to spend less time on mobile games and instead join the camp to connect with outdoor sports and physical activities. Principal Daljit Singh stated that training sessions will begin daily at 6.00 am. He urged all interested children to report to the venue on June 1 so that the training program can commence on schedule.

Ajay Mehra, president of the Daily Morning Football Club, Nawanshahr and Tarsem Lal, District Mass Media Officer and chairman of the club, appealed to parents to take advantage of this opportunity. They emphasised that children can receive quality football training free of cost and develop into skilled players. They also highlighted that encouraging children to participate in sports from an early age helps keep them away from negative influences and promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Football coach Jasvir Singh Jassi informed that the camp is being organised with the support of sports enthusiasts, club members and NRI supporters. He added that talented and promising players are also recognised and honoured from time to time to encourage excellence in sports.
