Kota Kinabalu: Sabah needs an effective strategy to develop and retain human capital to reap vast economic opportunities following the development of Indonesia’s future capital, Nusantra in the region, said Deputy Federal Human Resources Minister, Mustapha Sakmud.“Sabah needs to be ready by producing and retaining a highly competent, capable and skilled workforce to seize economic opportunities abound from this development,” he said at the first public talk session on Malaysia’s Strategy on the career development of the younger generation at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Apart from solving issues with infrastructure and public facilities, Mustapha stressed Sabah must ensure it does not lose its skilled workforce to other states and neighbouring countries if it hopes to benefit from the economic impact of Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara.
