There is a need to connect the younger generation with the country’s rich cultural heritage, traditions and moral values, said Himachal Governor Kavinder Gupta on Monday.

Presiding over the Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha prize distribution ceremony organised by the All World Gayatri Pariwar in Shimla, the Governor said Indian culture was the foundation of the nation and Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha offers an effective platform for promoting cultural awareness, ethical values, patriotism and national consciousness among students.

He said India’s ancient scriptures and knowledge traditions continue to guide the building of a responsible and value-based society.

He also stressed the need for balanced development along with modern education, adding that cultural education was equally important for nurturing responsible citizens and dedicated nation-builders.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of the All World Gayatri Pariwar in organising the examination and congratulated the students who excelled in the test.

He also commended the efforts of teachers and parents for their role in instilling values and character among children.

Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, he said that this goal could be achieved through a youth population empowered with knowledge, skills, values, and a strong sense of national commitment. He urged students to adopt the values of truth, discipline, service and integrity and contribute positively towards society and nation-building.
