The Haryana Government has implemented comprehensive and multi-layered security arrangements to ensure the peaceful, fair, and transparent conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026, scheduled for June 21.

Acting on the directives of CM Nayab Singh Saini, the state government, district administration and Haryana Police have made special arrangements to uphold the integrity of the examination and provide a safe, hassle-free environment for candidates.

Extensive administrative preparations as per CM’s directives

The examination will be conducted across several districts of the state, including Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Rewari, Jind, Nuh, Bhiwani, Palwal, Sirsa and Mahendragarh. Adequate police forces, duty magistrates, male and female frisking teams and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will be deployed at all examination centres.

Officials have been instructed to ensure proper arrangements for security, traffic management, medical assistance, drinking water and other essential facilities during the exam. The CM said the state government was fully committed to providing a fear-free and fair examination environment for every candidate.

Dual-layer screening and strict entry protocols

A dual-layer security screening (frisking) system has been put in place at examination centres. The first screening will be conducted by police and Home Guard personnel at the entrance, while the second screening will take place after candidates have entered the centre. At least one frisking official will be deployed for every 100 candidates and it has been ensured that women constitute at least 50 per cent of the frisking teams. Hand-held metal detectors will also be utilised.

The Haryana Police have issued clear instructions prohibiting candidates from entering examination centres with mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, tablets, smartwatches, electronic gadgets, jewellery, notes, books, loose papers or other restricted items. Adequate CCTV camera arrangements have been ensured at the centres and electronic surveillance will be maintained at all critical locations.

Strict vigilance on cheating mafias and rumour-mongers

Intelligence networks have been activated to keep a close watch on the activities of cheating mafias and other anti-social elements. Special checks will be conducted at coaching centres, hotels, lodges, inns, cyber cafes and other suspicious locations near examination centres. Social media platforms will be continuously monitored to immediately curb any rumours, misleading information, paper leaks or fraudulent activities. Special security arrangements have been made for the safe transport and custody of question papers. Security vetting has been conducted for all personnel and staff deployed at exam centres. Additionally, gazetted officers have inspected all centres to ensure that the buildings, rooms, walls and premises are completely secure and compliant with established standards.

Special arrangements for traffic, parking and emergency assistance

A special traffic plan has been formulated to manage law and order and traffic flow. Adequate parking facilities have been ensured near the centres, and police and Home Guard personnel will be deployed for crowd control. Quick Response Teams, led by inspector-rank officers, have been constituted in every district to immediately handle any emergencies, security breaches, medical needs or unforeseen incidents. Furthermore, if a candidate requires emergency assistance to reach the exam centre and contacts Dial-112 (ERSS), arrangements have been made to transport them via an ERSS vehicle.

Ensuring fair exam a priority: DGP Ajay Singhal

Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal said the Haryana Police was fully prepared for the fair and peaceful conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 examination. He has directed all Commissioners and Superintendents of Police and other senior officers to ensure regular monitoring of examination centres, conduct surprise inspections, and continuously review security arrangements. The DGP said strict legal action would be taken against the ‘cheating mafia’, elements disrupting the examination process and those spreading rumours. He emphasised that the Haryana Police’s objective was not merely to provide security but to create an environment where every candidate could take the exam with full concentration and confidence. He appealed to candidates and parents to adhere to the prescribed guidelines and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police or the administration.
