Leaders to discuss multiple issues including Negeri Sembilan impasse after Umno assemblymen withdrew support for MB Aminuddin Harun
SEPANG: The Negeri Sembilan political situation is expected to be among the matters discussed during a meeting between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders this evening, said PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
However, Saifuddin said the meeting is part of normal engagements between the two coalitions and was not convened solely to address any political crisis.
He said the meeting would take place after two earlier sessions involving PKR and PH.
“First, we will have the PKR political bureau meeting, chaired by the party president (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim).
“After that, we will have the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting, also chaired by the party president,” he told reporters after inspecting KLIA Terminal 1 operations today.
Saifuddin said a meeting between PH and BN leaders would then be held later in the evening.
“We will discuss various matters. We are not only discussing these crises. These are normal meetings.
“PH and BN often hold meetings. It just happens to attract more attention today because of the background involving Negeri Sembilan politics and so on,” he said.
The meeting comes amid a political impasse in Negeri Sembilan after all 14 Umno and BN assemblymen withdrew their support for Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Saifuddin was speaking after inspecting KLIA Terminal 1 operations under the Home Ministry’s Citra Negara programme.
