SEREMBAN – Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he will first meet the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan to determine the candidate for Menteri Besar after the BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition won the state election on Saturday.
The Deputy Prime Minister said he would do so as soon as possible.
“I will meet (the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan) first as soon as possible,” he said during a press conference at Wisma Umno Negeri Sembilan.
He said this in response to a question on the candidate who would be appointed as Menteri Besar to lead the state administration.
Earlier, he announced that BN-PN would form the Negeri Sembilan state government after the coalition secured a two-thirds majority based on unofficial results.
He said unofficially, BN won 18 seats while PN secured seven seats, giving both coalitions the majority needed to lead the state administration.
