VILLAGERS have come forward describing their last encounters with the 51-year-old man who is the main suspect in the shocking discovery of a woman’s body buried in a bag near a house in Kampung Batu 4 Pedas on December 12.

Several residents said they saw the man in the village in the days leading up to the grim find but noticed nothing unusual about his behaviour. One local, 63-year-old Rahim, recalled that the suspect, known locally as ‘Adik’, visited his home near the crime scene on December 11.

“I was tidying the plants around my house when he came over to shake my hand. We chatted and asked each other how we were, since it had been a while,” Rahim said.

“He said he was going back to his mother’s house to pack up as it had been empty for a long time. I didn’t suspect anything; he seemed completely normal.”

Rahim added that the man spoke about his family, mentioning that he had divorced previously but remarried a woman from Sarawak.

He also recalled joking with the suspect about living arrangements, but said there was nothing suspicious in his demeanour.

“He was just like any other villager. People call him ‘Adik’ because he’s the youngest in the family,” Rahim said.

The local said he and fellow villagers were shocked when news broke about the body discovery and the subsequent arrest of the suspect.

“A few days before the body was found, he was seen drinking at a café near a fishing pond close to his house and asking for a quote to build a fence for his mother’s home,” Rahim added.

Other witnesses reported seeing the suspect’s Proton Saga FLX near the scene at around 8am on December 12, although the suspect himself was not present.

Rahim said the body was discovered on the property of the suspect’s late sister, with his mother’s home nearby.

Police have linked the deceased to a missing person report filed on December 15 in Ampang, Selangor. Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad confirmed that preliminary investigations revealed the body had been placed in a bag and buried.

Authorities had earlier appealed to the public for information to locate 53-year-old entrepreneur Suri Narudin, reported missing since December 8. While some reports suggest the suspect is Suri’s husband, her family has denied this, claiming the man was her partner.

The case continues to draw significant attention as police investigations proceed and the village grapples with the shocking developments. - December 22, 2025
