A further 55 Malaysians were reported to be still unreachable following the flash floods and landslides in Rasuwa District, Nepal, last Wednesday.
KUALA LUMPUR: The family of N. Kalaiselvi, 65, who was reported missing in Nepal has appealed for the process of identifying the 72 Malaysians who were confirmed safe in Darchen, China to be expedited to end their agony.
Kritikaa Joyce De Brito said that despite being informed by the Foreign Ministry about a group of Malaysians who had survived in the area, the status of her mother was still unknown until now.

“I just want information about my mother’s condition and hope that the government can channel information to the family members as soon as possible,” she said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Wisma Putra today confirmed that the 72 Malaysians in Darchen were safe and the embassy in Beijing was providing consular assistance, including support for their travel arrangements to leave the Tibet Autonomous Region, China.
Meanwhile, a further 55 Malaysians were reported to be still unreachable following the flash floods and landslides in Rasuwa District, Nepal, last Wednesday.
Kritikaa said the last time she contacted her mother was at 5.38 pm, on Tuesday via WhatsApp before the flash floods and landslides hit the Rasuwa District, Nepal, a day later.
She said her mother was with 26 other Malaysians to Mount Kailash in Tibet, China to perform a group religious ceremony managed by the travel agency Spectrum Horizon Travels Sdn Bhd.
Kritikaa said her mother left last Sunday evening and managed to check into a hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal on Monday and managed to contact her briefly via WhatsApp.
“On August 25, 5.38 pm I received the last message from her and until now we have lost contact. I hope the government can act to provide information about her whereabouts,” she said, who lives with her father in Puchong.
She also informed that Wisma Putra had contacted her to come to Putrajaya for a further briefing session on the development of the situation, tomorrow.
