MANILA, Philippines — The new challengers are ready to test their poker faces as “LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines” returns for its second season on Oct. 30, with Vice Ganda once again serving as host and 10 comedians facing off in a six-hour battle of wit and comedy.
Following the success of its first season, the Prime Video comedy competition returns with a mix of established performers and emerging talents from live performance, stand-up, television and digital content.
The Season 2 lineup features Long Mejia, Epy Quizon, Candy Pangilinan, Ethel Booba, Pooh, Donna Cariaga, Chariz Solomon, Esnyr, James Caraan and Charuth.
The new cast brings together different generations, backgrounds and styles of Filipino comedy, with comedy veterans sharing the room with newer crowd favorites. The format puts their individual comedic approaches to the test as each contestant tries to make the others laugh while keeping a straight face.
All 10 comedians will be locked together for six hours, where they can use different comedy techniques, spontaneous performances and interactions to make their fellow contestants break character. At the same time, they must control their own reactions because even a single laugh could put their place in the competition at risk.
The challenge becomes a balancing act between provoking laughter and avoiding it. Contestants will have to find new ways to catch their opponents off guard while maintaining their composure as the competition progresses.
Every reaction can affect the game as the comedians compete to remain among the last standing and claim the win.
Season 2 also marks the return of original showrunner Randolph Longjas. The series comes from Amazon MGM Studios in association with UXS Inc. (Unitel/StraightShooters).
“LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines Season 2” premieres exclusively on Prime Video in the Philippines and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on Oct. 30.
