Kota Kinabalu: Grace Lee Li Mei, the newly elected Kota Kinabalu PKR Division Chief called for unity within the party following her surprising victory over incumbent Datuk Christina Liew.

Grace, who secured 1,381 votes to Christina’s 1,157, said her win represents a collective effort and urged all members to put aside past divisions.

In a statement Monday, Grace said: “This victory does not belong to me alone, but to us all. After this election, we are one family. Let’s rise together, strengthen the division, and ensure the voices of Kota Kinabalu are heard.”

She underscored the importance of unity, stating, “I would like to invite everyone, regardless of who you supported before, to close ranks and work together.”

Grace, who previously served as the division’s treasurer and a community development officer under Christina, highlighted that politics is about service and community, not personal gain or power.

She pledged to continue working tirelessly for the people of Kota Kinabalu.
