SHAH ALAM: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) will soon introduce a programme allowing traders and hawkers to purchase basic goods and supplies needed for their businesses at discounted prices, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said today.
Fahmi said the initiative would complement existing measures such as Menu RAHMAH and Jualan RAHMAH by helping small traders reduce operating costs.
“There will soon be a specific programme for traders and hawkers.

“KPDN will have a new programme that will allow traders and hawkers to buy goods for them to sell to the public.
“The basic goods and supplies they need for their businesses will be provided at discounted prices,” he said.
He also encouraged consumers to use KPDN’s PriceCatcher application to compare prices of everyday goods at nearby premises before shopping.
Fahmi cited a recent experience near his home in Kelana Jaya, where fresh milk was priced at RM7.50 at one shop and RM5.50 at another nearby outlet.
“Be smart consumers. Make price comparisons first, then go shopping.
“Use PriceCatcher to save. This is one of the ways the government helps the people in ensuring the cost of living and the cost of goods are controlled,” he said.
Fahmi also highlighted the MyGov Malaysia super app developed through the National Digital Department, saying it consolidates services and information from several government agencies on a single platform.
He said users could access information on driving licences, passports and summonses, while a new AI chat function could help answer queries about government initiatives such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah.
Touching on Budget 2027, which Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to table on Oct 9, Fahmi said members of the administration had yet to be informed of its full contents.
“I myself have not been informed of its contents.
“But I hope everyone will pay attention because there will certainly be many things that the people will be able to benefit from in the Prime Minister’s presentation on Oct 9,” he said.
Fahmi made the remarks while officiating the Program MADANI Kita (PMK) Kota Anggerik @ Shah Alam at Dewan Melati, Section 7, here today.
He described PMK as a “mini one-stop centre” bringing government agencies and services closer to residents.
PMK, organised by the Community Communications Department (J-KOM) with the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), is a more targeted and smaller-scale version of Program MADANI Rakyat.
“This is one of the ways, including through J-KOM, for us to ensure that government services are understood, felt and enjoyed by the people,” he said.
Services offered included MyDigital ID registration, STR checks, unclaimed money services, Jualan RAHMAH, JPJ Mobile, health and dental screenings, and National Registration Department counters.
Also present were Selangor youth, sports and entrepreneurship committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi, who is also Kota Anggerik assemblyman, and Shah Alam MP Azli Yusof.
