Kota Kinabalu: A sum of RM20 million has been allocated for the construction of a new religious school in Sabah early next year.
Special Tasks Minister Datuk Arifin Arif said the new school, when completed, could accommodate up to 200 Tahfiz and Al-Qiraat Darul Quran Jakim (IQTAS) students.
Speaking at the fifth Sabah Tahfiz Convocation here Thursday, he said a suitable location was being sought for the school.
“The State Government gives equal attention to Tahfiz and in Iqtas schools alongside other higher learning institutions. This is made possible because of the Zakat Fitrah alms collection.
