Newcastle United are not in the mood to sell veteran defender Jamaal Lascelles.

The club captain, who is not a first choice starter for Eddie Howe, could be the subject of a transfer offer.

Manager Howe is set to resist all attempts from Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab to sign Lascelles.

Per The Northern Echo, Al-Shabab are serious about securing Lascelles and would give him regular game time.

While they are not owned by the Public Investment Fund in Saudi, who are the owners of Newcastle United, fans may question the link between the two parties.

A deal may eventually be financially beneficial for Newcastle, but not at this moment.

Howe would prefer to sell Lascelles in January, as both Sven Botman and Fabian Schar are injured.
